Spectacular painting’s drawn under the influence of drugs by Brian Polett

The brain is the control center for all the body’s functions, such as walking, talking, swallowing, breathing, taste, smell, heart rate and so on. It also controls all our thinking functions, our emotions, how we behave and all our intellectual (cognitive) activities.

Any interference with brain can lead to serious goof ups in our brain function and behavior. Consumption of drugs alter the brain function by messing up with brain’s pleasure circuit. Drugs mimic the brain’s own chemicals, they don’t activate neurons in the same way as a natural neurotransmitter, and they lead to abnormal messages being transmitted through the network.

To demonstrate the effects of drugs on brain and our mind, San Francisco artist Brian Polett actually consumed the drugs for 20 days and painted out his imagination everyday on the canvas. The result was mystical.
