What the World is Hiding: Original sin by Andre levy

Religious strictures are often the source of attitudes toward nudity. Society urges the wearing of clothing partially as a means of controlling the powerful sexual urges that are feared will be released by nudity, causing chaotic behavior. There’s something therapeutic about nudity. if you take away the Gucci or Levi’s and we’re all the same.

Brazilian artist Andre Levy, aka Zhion explains his take on nudity by painting the frequently visited pathways and places with underpants either on rocks or on the pavements. He says “I believe the seed of sexualization of the human body is not in nudity, but in the urge to hide it. That’s why Original Sin Project was born.“

His project “The Original Sin” puts up a question to all, Andre asks: “Which of the objects are naked now? The painted ones or their surrounding pairs? The answer, as the sin, is in the eyes of the observer.” He adds: “In this context, passers-by won’t be surprised by nudity, but by the unexpected lack of it.“
