Self-taught artist Nuria Salcedo based in the small Spanish town of Ontinyent who creates intricate portraits using coffee as her paint. Nuria sketches each portrait out with a brown pencil and then finishes it off with coffee. She spend so many hours working on the details which make her work more special.”
Nuria points to several benefits of using coffee aside from allowing her work to stand out online. It’s cheaper than paint, provides a wide range of shades, and it gives warmth to an illustration. “It is like if all the feelings around drinking a cup of coffee — comfort, ease, rest, quiet, or peacefulness were also applied in an illustration painted with it,” Nuria Salcedo said”.
